This Season, Consider Each Moment Precious
Christmas has always been a favorite time of year for our family. We stretch it out from Thanksgiving to New Years. It is a marathon of dinners with friends and family. So what would it look like to condense 30 plus days into 96 hours? I use the term 96 hours since this was a “Liberty Call” I got on December 23, 1990. In 96 hours there were 6,000 miles of travel, putting lights up, chopping down and decorating a tree,12 meals with friends and family, an ice storm, building an entire play mobile house with a half a dozen guys and very little assembly instructions till 11:00 on Christmas Eve, opening presents, being with family, getting reacquainted with my wife and my three children, Church services, viewing lights, a big Christmas meal, taxiing to the airport with tears and landing at exactly 95 hours and 45 minutes from the time I started. 15 minutes to spare!!! None of this would be possible without God’s intervention.
This season, consider each moment precious and remember to help others sacrificially. Most of all, reflect on the HOPE we have in a baby born in a manger so long ago.
